Revelations of Divine Love
Julian of Norwich's Revelations of Divine Love is the recorded series of sixteen visions she received on May 8, 1373. The manuscript has two versions; the first (the short text) was written shortly after Julian's first revelation, the second (the long text) was written twenty years later. In Revelations, the reader will discover Julian's personal, mystical experience of Christ. While it is difficult for some to swallow the unusual descriptions of Jesus--such as Christ being depicted as a mother--the work itself presents impressive scholarship and admirable devotion to God.
