Margery Kempe

Margery Kempe was the daughter of the mayor of Lynn and married John Kempe in 1393. After bearing 14 children, Kempe left her husband to pursue a deeper relationship with God. This account serves as the basis for Kempe's autobiography The Book of Margery Kempe.
